Online Shoe Shopping in the Uk: Things to Look For

The Internet has brought the world of shopping to the fingertips of just about everyone. Long gone are the days of driving from shop to shop, wasting precious time and petrol just to find that one particular item you’ve been searching for in the size you need. In this case, we’re referring to shoes.

Shopping for shoes is a very involved process, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t complete this task online. It can be quite simple, really, as long as you are dealing with the right online company. So, based on our experience, here are a few things to look for while scouting the Internet for a pair of shoes:

1.A nice selection of brand names with accurate descriptions in laymen’s terminology. For example, “an airbag in the middle of the sole acts as a shock absorber for each step” this description doesn’t just inform you of what a particular feature is (an airbag), but what it does using words that you can understand (acts as a shock absorber).

2.Be sure that your website of choice is secure and trustable site. To make sure that your payment information is safe, look for a Verisign logo on the home or contact page of the site. Make sure that the company has a real address and phone number, as well as email addresses listed on site. All contact and security information should be readily available for you to see; you shouldn’t have to search for it.

3.Be sure that if you need to return any items, you can do so easily and without any annoyances. Sometimes shoes don’t fit exactly as planned, and a return or exchange is necessary. In this case you’ll be glad that you bought from a store with good customer service and a painless return process.

4.To put the proverbial icing on the cake of your online shoe shopping experience, a few online stories will offer free delivery. Imagine that you’ve just bought the perfect pair of shoes without a pushy salesperson who made you feel uncomfortable and pressured into a particular brand. You’ve chosen the style and color, AND they had your size in stock. All this, plus it didn’t cost you a dime to get it home. Now that’s simply amazing shoe shopping!

What are some common annoyances you encounter from online sites such as match.com, craigslist/other personals?

Annoying kinds of responses, typical things in the responses that you don't like? Problematic people, what kinds of things do you notice?

I always noticed terrible grammar, mainly "your" in place of "you're".

Also if they would be like "ur hot", it was obvious what they were REALLY after… Screw that.

Fedora 7 linux questions and annoyances?

I have Windows XP Pro on one partition. I installed fedora 7 in the other partition (now I'm using fedora as I'm typing this) and when booting up the select operating system menu doesn't appear, so I can't boot up windows if needed. What should I do? Also, I can't see the other partition from fedora (I mean the partition where windows is installed). How can I change the screen resolution on fedora other than 800×600. There are only two options 640×480 and 800×600? Is there any way to change it to 104×768?

First, hopefully you installed Grub boot manager when you installed Fedora. If so you can add the XP partition to the
Grub menu by editing /boot/grub/grub.conf from your root userid. It will look something like this.

title Windows 2000
rootnoverify (hd0,0) <<<< careful to use the right partition
makeactive
chainloader +1
boot

Check out the links below.

Change your screen resolution from
system->Administration->Display

I am assuming you are using KDE and that is how you can do it there. You will need to enter your root password.
If you are not given the correct resolution is it because you have the wrong video card or monitor defined to X windows. So go to the Hardware tab and make sure you have the correct video card and/or monitor defined.

Do you have any football game "annoyances"?

When you go to a football game, is there anything that you find particularly annoying? Certain types of fans? The price of beer? You can pick anything you want. :)

I don't know about you, but I find it REALLY annoying when parents bring their screaming children and then constantly get up with them to go to the restroom. And of course, the price of food is ridiculous.

Anyone care to share some of their football game pet-peeves?

I have a few in addition to yours…annoying drunk people spilling beer or getting sick right in their seats. Not real good for your shoes.
Foul language constantly, not one sentence without every word being f***. If it is allowed…people smoking.
For the cost of the tickets, I would like just being able to enjoy the game. Have a great day! Good question…Star for you!.
